About Us
Stockbridge Area Senior Center (SASC) The Stockbridge Area Senior Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Stockbridge, Michigan.
Playing a vital role in connecting seniors throughout a total of six townships in the southeastern corner of Ingham County, the SASC operates without a consistent funding source. It currently depends on community support to continue offering the programs and activities that enrich lives.
The SASC staff, volunteers, and board of directors hold a deep dedication to its mission
to promote, educate, and provide activities that support the emotional and physical health
of older adults and their families.
Through partnerships such as the Tri-County Office on Aging, the Center serves free congregate lunches four days per week. Yet, it is the ever-generous Stockbridge area community that makes the below additional services possible:
- Weekly exercise and fitness classes that support mobility and strength
- Arts and crafts sessions that encourage creativity and social connection
- Games and group activities that foster engagement and laughter
- Educational presentations on wellness, safety, and community resources
- Health screenings that promote prevention and early detection
- Group outings that provide exploration and friendship opportunities
By way of these services, the SASC serves as a welcoming, inclusive environment where
older adults can stay active, connected, and supported in every area of life.
How Contributions Help
Contributions make it possible to maintain daily operations, expand programming, and keep services accessible to those who need them. Every donation, large or small, makes a meaningful difference. Funds raised through this campaign directly support:
- Operational expenses required to keep the Center open and accessible
- Supplies for exercise, art, and educational programs
- Materials and coordination for health screenings and outreach events
- Transportation support for seniors with mobility limitations
- Facility improvements that enhance safety and accessibility
